BLOGS ARE THE FUTURE OF BUSINESS

"I have tried simply to write the best I can; sometimes I have good luck and write better than I can." - Hemingway

Today, I would like to discuss how the heck I am going to get some readers (and for the few if any out there, I thank you :) )- that wasn't a double-chin, I just had to close off the parentheses (though for anyone who wants to use the double-chin in your emoticon, take it- just give me the credit of authorship I deserve- I have so little), but I digress....

I think initially the inception of the blog was angled towards the relay of information (and I agree in totality), but the author's personality cannot be mutually exclusive from its formation. When I grab a newspaper or magazine, I peruse through the content to see if there are articles that 'catch my eye,' but if I am familiar with the medium, I will by-pass the search for articles and gravitate towards the writers that I enjoy reading. Even if they are writing on a subject I don't particularly care to read about, I will, because the author's style precedes their content. I seem to still be digressing, this is a blog on blogs today not authors....

Having a blog incorporated or related to your site is a great way to cause some surfers to catch a wave your way. It is another reason for potential fans or customers (if you are providing a product or service) to foster a relationship with you. When your blog is visited frequently, visitors will realize they are not the only ones clicking in (ESPECIALLY IF THEY COMMENT) and thus, a community begins to revolve around the blog. Because of their interest in the blog's community, they will also associate that fuzzy, warm feeling to you (and your products and services- if you have them).

Business is headed full-steam into cyber-space with a huge increase in online advertising projected for 2007. What does that mean in terms of formatting a stellar blog? A great, low-cost source for marketing. People (or 'consumers') will associate your product and services with your blog. There are several magazines and newspapers that I subscribe to, not because the mediums are top in their field, but because I like the aura of the medium, and it started from the enchantment of the writing.

Well, I think "lefty" is about to finish his math rubik's cube (an inside joke- if you had been reading the blog all along you would get it- hint January 30th). Basically, what I was attempting to relate (amongst all this gibberish) was that any business or person who would like some popularity, most certainly should begin orchestrating a blog. There are some innovative ideas you can implement into them thanks to technology. For instance, the great staff over at SEOmoz just yesterday instilled a video clip to supplement their written text- great idea! Remember- a blog will become an economical extension of your business that will have tremendous positive repercussions. contentmuse out!

ps- I must again tip my cap to the staff over at SEOmoz for showcasing the information about Search Builder being an excellent way for Yahoo! to spider your site in more detail.
